Online session: Embedding trauma-informed practice
The Scottish Government are hosting an online session with Public Service Delivery Scotland (PSDS) on the mental health and wellbeing resources available for college, university and PBSA staff to support students. As well as this, they will cover the trauma informed resources available nationally to support developing trauma informed practice and organisational support.
The workshop will introduce staff from across Scotland’s colleges, universities and accommodation providers to the new PSDS Learning Starters Resource, alongside a wide range of practical resources designed to support organisations in embedding and developing trauma-informed practice.
This session is intended primarily for those who lead, coordinate, or influence staff development and training within their institution, rather than frontline staff delivering support directly to students.
It will provide the opportunity to explore how these resources can be used to build workforce knowledge, confidence and capability in trauma-informed practice across colleges and universities.
Session scope
This event forms part of the wider work underway to support the implementation of the Student Mental Health Action Plan. However, the session will focus specifically on learning and training materials (see Action 3) and will not cover all aspects of the Action Plan.

There will be time for questions following both the PSDS overview of resources and the presentations from the University of Strathclyde and Fife College.
