Glasgow Caledonian University and GCU Students’ Association are committed to ensuring our students have the best possible experience during their time here.
The dedicated GCU Student Wellbeing Team provide free and confidential advice and support. Our aim is to support you through your time at University and help you to achieve your academic success by providing a friendly face and a listening ear in a safe and non-judgemental environment.
What Support is Available?
The GCU Student Wellbeing Team includes Counsellors, Wellbeing Advisers, Mental Health Advisers, Project Officers and the Disability Service who work to offer support for all aspects of mental health and wellbeing through a range of different services to help support our students:
- Contextualised support for diverse student experiences (for example, Student Carers, Care experienced students, and more)
- Wellbeing advice
- Mental health advice
- Counselling
- Disability support
- Online self-care resources
- 24/7 support through Togetherall
- A wellbeing newsletter
- Report and Support: An online reporting tool to submit a report about misconduct on campus and access contextualised support resources.

At GCU Students’ Association we have a specialised Advice Centre that is available to all GCU Students from Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm via drop in, email, phone or in person and online appointment. The Students’ Association Advice Centre is independent of GCU and provides free and confidential advice for all GCU students. We specialise in in supporting and representing students through formal (and informal) university processes such as Fit to Sit/Extreme and Exceptional Circumstances, Academic Appeals, Academic and non-academic Misconduct, complaints as well as providing general advice and referrals made on all topics impacting students. We are also a hub to drop in and collect Free Condoms and re-usable period products.
