The Think Positive project is funded by the mental health and advanced learning and science directorates of Scottish Government. The project sits within the Scottish Government’s 2017-2027 Mental Health Strategy as action 9 “Support the further development of ‘Think Positive’ to ensure consistent support for students across Scotland.”
During 2021-2022 The Scottish Government provided funding to the project for over £114,000. This funding enables Think Positive to directly support colleges, universities and students associations to develop and promote the mental health work that they deliver.
Think Positive works with 74% of all colleges, universities and student’s associations in Scotland, meaning the project has the potential to benefit 417,600+ students during 2021-2022.
“I am delighted that the Scottish Government has been able to support the NUS Think Positive hub go live at the end of March. The hub pulls together everything you need to get support with student mental health in Scotland. I would urge students to engage with it as it can quickly direct you to support available where you are studying. It also provides the opportunity to share the resources or training the wider sector has developed to support students.” – Jamie Hepburn Minister for Higher Education, Further Education, Youth Employment and Training
