Our work with colleges, universities and students’ associations
Think Positive work with 91% of all colleges, universities and students’ associations in Scotland to develop, promote and evaluate their mental health support offer, through our SMHA project. Central to this approach is working with students to help institutions to understand what is currently working well for students and where improvements could be made.
Why get involved?
We believe that services, supports and initiatives for students need to be developed and evaluated with students and staff working together. Your contributions could help to shape future services, help the institution better understand what students want and could improve the overall experience for future students. It could also be a great development opportunity for you to learn more and make new connections.
How you can get involved in mental health work at your institution
If you would like to be involved in some of the work happening at your college, university or students’ association, you can share your contact details in the below form, and we will pass these on to those leading on this work at your institution.
What could involvement include?
The opportunities will greatly vary between institutions and what they’re taking forward, but some examples could include:
- Sitting on the SMHA working group.
- Taking part in a survey.
- Helping to decide what work the institution should prioritise.
- Engaging other students in the work.
- Giving feedback on services or activities.
- Getting involved in peer support.
- Writing the SMHA.
- Something else!
