Co-production in practice: GCU student mental health campaign
Glasgow Caledonian University (GCU) Wellbeing team and Digital Design students have co-produced a campaign to encourage students to speak about their mental health.
The project – ‘GCUGood?’ – was a collaboration between the GCU Wellbeing team and a group of students who completed this as part of one of their final year modules.
The campaign was launched on University Mental Health Day and included a selection of poster designs, motion graphics and social media assets.
This collaboration is a great example of both co-production and embedding mental health into the curriculum.
Students took part during their module ‘Design For Change’, this gave them an opportunity to learn more about student mental health and be a part of a campaign to help fellow students access support.
This is just one example of how colleges, universities and students’ associations can involve students in design, particularly in relation to support services and Student Mental Health Agreements.
