Glasgow Clyde College
At Glasgow Clyde College we’re committed to providing a positive and nurturing environment where everyone feels safe, valued and motivated to achieve their full potential. Our inclusive and proactive approach to supporting students’ mental health and wellbeing stems from the understanding that it benefits every student to have continuous access to resources which focus on how to ‘stay well and thrive’ at college.
These resources are available from enrolment onwards and are hosted on the college’s eLearning platform. Students on most of our courses also have a designated guidance tutor, providing regular opportunities to discuss wellbeing and address any issues of concern.
What Support is Available?
- Counselling service
- Time to Talk helpline
- Learning Inclusion Team
- Student Information and Welfare Centre
- Glasgow Clyde College Students’ Association
The Learning Inclusion Team on each campus is there to support students to achieve their full potential. If issues with health and wellbeing are having an impact on learning, the skilled advisers can explore any reasonable adjustments that could be considered and make recommendations about study support strategies.
The Student Information and Welfare Centre is the place to go for assistance with course applications or to discuss the financial implications of becoming a student. The team on each campus has excellent links within college and with external agencies, so they can provide information and practical support on a wide range of welfare issues. You can speak with one of our student advisers via phone 0141 272 3636 or email info@glasgowclyde.ac.uk .
Glasgow Clyde College Students Association represents students who attend Glasgow Clyde College (GCC). GCCSA’s overall aim is to make the student experience at GCC as enjoyable, beneficial and productive as possible. We do this by working in close partnership with the wider college, hosting events, raising awareness about the importance of health and wellbeing and signposting students to where they can go for information, guidance and support in college.
The Time to Talk helpline: 0141 272 3786 – is staffed by qualified counsellors and is open to students and staff from 1–3pm, Monday to Friday. A limited number of counselling appointments are also available for current students to book.
Glasgow Clyde College is committed to connecting students with the most appropriate external agency or service when an individual’s need for mental health support exceeds what the college can provide.
More information on the support available to students can be found on the Glasgow Clyde College website.
Glasgow Clyde College are currently developing their Student Mental Health Agreement and we’ll share it on this page when it has been launched.
