New College Lanarkshire
There are a wide range of resources available that can help assist with mental health.
Our Student Advisers are here to listen and offer guidance about any issues with your course or personal life. They can also signpost you to other organisations who can support you. The Student Advisers can refer you on to our free counselling service who can help with mental health issues such as depression, anxiety or OCD. Talking Rooms are highly trained and qualified psychotherapists who can help you work through your issues.

NCL works in partnership with Togetherall and as a student of NCL this entitles you to free access of the support and resources that Togetherall provides.
You can have access anywhere, anytime, 24/7. Togetherall is a safe, online community where people support each other anonymously to improve mental health and wellbeing, even if you have never been comfortable talking out before. If you are looking to register with this service, you can sign up using your college email address via the Togetherall website.
If you find yourself in a position where your mental health is causing you to fall behind or you’re not coping with deadlines and/or your assessments, the ELS team can provide support by working with you and your faculty to put in plans, measures and support mechanisms to allow you to carry on with your studies the best you can at this time.
You could either speak to your lecturer to complete a referral form with you. Or you could contact ELS directly by using email: els@nclan.ac.uk
To book an appointment with a student adviser, you can call 0300 555 8080 or email studentadviser@nclan.ac.uk.
To support students to improve their wellbeing and remain on their programme of study, NCL has invested in three Wellbeing Academies (WA’s) situated in each of our main campus sites, Coatbridge, Cumbernauld, and Motherwell.
The Academies are a pioneering initiative designed to prioritise wellbeing at the core of the student experience. Recognising the critical link between student wellbeing and academic success, the WA’s aim to provide holistic support services and programmes that cater to the physical, emotional, and social wellbeing needs of our students. By doing so, it seeks to enhance student retention, academic performance, and overall satisfaction, aligning with NCL’s Getting To Know You and Be Financially Fit Campaigns. Please contact studentvoice@nclan.ac.uk for more information.
More information on the support available to students can be found on the New College Lanarkshire website.
