Revised CYP Community Mental Health and Wellbeing Supports and Services Framework
The Scottish Government has published its revised Children and Young People’s Community Mental Health and Wellbeing Supports and Services Framework.
We know that lots of colleges, universities and students’ associations work with community services to provide support for their students, many of whom are also young people.
This framework provides advice and guidance on the provision of community-based mental health support for children, young people and their families.
The Framework underpins the £15 million per annum that the Scottish Government has provided to local authorities since 2021-22 to deliver supports and services that are focused on prevention and early intervention, promoting positive mental health and wellbeing, and tackling emotional distress.
Key aspects of the revised Framework include:
- The addition of outcomes developed through the Children and Young People’s Mental Health and Wellbeing Joint Delivery Board
- Greater emphasis on family support
- Guidance on evaluation and measuring outcomes
- Information about challenging stigma and discrimination
- More reference to transitions and support for older young people.
