Local Suicide Prevention Planning and Implementation Toolkit

Suicide Prevention Scotland have produced a Local Suicide Prevention Planning and Implementation Toolkit which features sections on topics relating to the development and implementation of a local suicide prevention action plan.
Each section of the toolkit has been developed based on learning with and supporting the suicide prevention community across Scotland.
The toolkit emphasises that local action plans should be based on local need, and offers opportunities to learn from national practice across suicide prevention and other policy areas.
By drawing on the experiences and insights of those working in suicide prevention and experts in the topic areas, the toolkit provides a flexible resource that shares collective learning and offers a chance to reflect on local approaches.
This toolkit is an excellent resource which colleges, universities and students’ associations may find useful in developing their suicide prevention work. There are some elements included which could be of particular benefit, such as the resource on engaging young people in your suicide prevention work, and including people with lived and living experience.

As well as this, Suicide Prevention Scotland have a newly developed section which can be used to search for local suicide prevention support which is worth sharing with both students and staff.
