Trauma Management and Positive Relationships: SCCR marks World Teachers Day
Cyrenians Scottish Centre for Conflict Resolution (SCCR) will mark World Teachers Day with two events led by educators. Both events seek to encourage teachers to nurture emotional health and wellbeing, their own and that of their students.
The learning from these sessions is relevant for all educational settings, making them useful for staff in schools, colleges and universities who teach and support students.
Nurturing Positive Relationships
- 12 noon, Thursday 5th October
- Free & Online
- The event is led by Billy Burke, a Scottish head teacher with a particular interest in leadership of wellbeing, equality and inclusion, and how we can nurture the conditions for sustainable development.
- Attendees will learn more about how wellbeing and positive relationships should be at the heart of all we do in work and in life.

How to Create More Trauma-Informed Responses in Schools
- 4pm, Thursday 5th October
- Free & Online
- Attendees will be provided with an insight into how prolonged patterns of trauma can impact the developing brain and body.
- The event will demonstrate an approach that brings certain core concepts on how the brain works within educational settings.

These two World Teachers Day events mark the start of SCCR’s online conference, which runs across October, with two online events per week. More details are shared via the SCCR website’s 2023 conference page and their social media channels.
