Neurodiversity Celebration Week
Neurodiversity Celebration Week is a global initiative that challenges misconceptions about neurodivergence while promoting inclusion, acceptance, and understanding.
This year, CDN’s EDI Strategic Network have launched the campaign ‘Celebrating Neurodiversity in Action’. It will run from 17-23 March and is aimed at engaging students, staff, and the wider community through educational resources, interactive activities, podcasts and inspiring stories.
As part of this campaign, the Network has created a podcast series highlighting personal stories and experiences from students and staff. These nine episodes offer insights into how educators and staff provide diverse support for neurodivergent individuals. The podcast series includes speakers from Ayrshire College and West College Scotland and explores the challenges, strengths, and transformative support that help foster an inclusive learning environment. Listen to CDN’s podcast series here.
To support the campaign, they have also created a Marketing Campaign Plan to support you with suggested activities, blog posts, and ideas which can be done within your college, university or students’ association.
We know that many institutions are working on developing their support for neurodivergent individuals as part of their Student Mental Health Agreement work. You may already be doing your own activities this Neurodiversity Celebration Week, and if so, we would love for you to share your activities with us!
